Hit one for me, Rusty

Generally, that was a pretty dumb game today. I feel for AJ. Not only did he shave his mohawk for the start, he pitched 8 strong innings only to have his team crap out and not give him any support. He didn't even get to hear Hangin' Tough before his start. The Beej IBBing the bases full and then plunking Kendrick (what kind of grown man is named Howie? And no, Mandel doesn't count) to tie the game in the 9th really blew. But, frankly, The Beej has been playing with fire for a while now, and the fist pumps were indicative that he knew it.

Random thoughts...Torii was out. Actually, I don't know, but I'll say he was. Rolen seemed to think so. And he is my lord and saviour.

I don't know what is more enjoyable, Barajas throwing at the guy running inside the bases yesterday or Wilner's "heck yeah, that's how you play" reaction to it.

Congrats to Manny Ramirez, my favourite ball player not on the Jays (actually, I'd take him over a lot of my Jays right now) on hitting homerun # 501. It is quite the feat, mang. Manny being Manny, in the Hall of Fame.
