The man, the myth, the tease

There are two kind of men a woman considers: those she marries and those she enjoys, but should never consider seriously.
The Jays' pitching staff features two such men.
The Jays' pitching staff features two such men.
One is steadfast, and serious. He pitches like a beast. You can depend on him. You can set your watch to him. He'll take out the trash. He signs long-term deals. He inspires tinglings in otherwise hetero men. He is so boss you just have to call him Doctor.
And then there is the other kind. He has the ability to pitch like a beast, but sometimes he spaces out and forgets how. He is a horrible tease. He "can be aloof, disarming, childish or cantankerous." (Nice adjectives, Blair!) You can see the potential in him, which makes you want to stick by him, but he is also so frustrating you routinely want to smack him. Repeatedly.
