Newflash: Lexi has a mohawk and Blair likes him

One of my fav parts of spring training are the stupid haircuts the boys have when they show up. Lexi showed up with a mohawk. "“I went out with a few friends in the off season and we started talking about Mohawks and stuff like that and I said, ‘You know what, I’m just going to grow one.”

Jeff Blair: "I didn’t know what to make of Rios when I came to Toronto. Frankly, I thought he was a bit of a slacker. But he has matured tremendously and is one of my favourite people on the team – news flash, there are people on the planet I don’t dislike. There’s a lot more inside the kid than I originally gave him credit for. That shouldn’t mean anything to any of you, I guess. But that’s the way I feel."

I always got the sense that for Rios, things came easily to him and he didn't really have to try. And if things didn't go his way, he'd sulk. One of the best moves the Jays made was platooning him with Hinske in '06 because it lit a fire under his ass. I feel more or less the same way Blair does, except add in a few bits about how pretty the boy is. Prettiness has little consequence, but I like it nonetheless. No need to be as fugly as the Red Sox.
