Let's Talk Spring

So looking around at the spring training game notes, things seem to be going ok. Marcum and Romero are pitching well, the Got For Doc Baby Jays are impressing enough people and some people are hitting the ball.

Ross Geller has been having personal meetings with Cito and the other coaches and the players to talk about their feelings, probably to avoid any of that messy "Everyone hates Cito" situation that happened at the tail end of last season. I'm assuming that everyone still hates Cito, they are just trying to bury the hatred hatchet at least until the All-Star break.

Jeremy Reed, who I have never heard of, but apparently is trying out for backup outfield position, says

“From my standpoint it's a very professional and great thing. The game's difficult enough as it is. And not knowing what's going on, when you go home it can really make you worry about things. It takes a lot of doubt and takes a lot of worry away.”

Jeremy just likes the meetings because he knows that, at least for some portion of the meeting, he knows that Cito knows his name.

Ross Geller has also said that Vernon Wells has been "swinging the bat real well. We think he's going to have a big year." Hope springs eternal.
