Twirling, Twirling Towards Opening Day

Doc faced his old team today, feeling either sorry for them or nostalgic, and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. He settled down and reverted back to cyborg mode, striking out 4 straight and retired the last 7 he faced. The Globe and Mail called it a hammering, people said "uh, no it wasn't." But 4 runs for Doc is pretty hammered-esque. Maybe not St.Patrick's Day hammered, but average Wednesday night for Parkes hammered.

Doc gets to face Washington on Opening Day, so I'm guessing things will be ok.

What? Oh right, the Jays. Joey Gathright and his car-jumping ways were told to get the hell out of here when he was released. Rzepczynski (I totally cut and pasted that) broke his finger and may be out six weeks. Deadspin, in it's Jays 2010 preview, says that Aaron Hill is the one that started the whole Cito mutiny last season, something I had not heard before. Being concussed also made him a shit disturber.

Proving that at least some ballplayers are literate, Dirk Hayhurst's Bullpen Gospels has finally been released. I was not sent a review copy to well, review, so that means I'll be thumbing through it at my local Indigo, piecing together some thoughts. No, I'll probably actually end up buying it and getting it signed on the 12th.
