Raging Hurt

I had to write an essay yesterday (in case you're curious it was on Egon Schiele and Mikhail Bakhtin). So I didn't get to give big ups and salutations to AJ and his fingernail for a totally kick ass performance, his first of 2008: The Road to Opting Out. And Vernon hit a homerun. Rios made a heads up play by gettting to an errant throw by AJ and throwing out Jeter. Hola Alex!

Anyway, tonight was the battle of the babies. I like ours better, but I must admit that Phil Hughes can pitch. I wouldn't mind him as a Jay, but he might have issues with being ignored because he doesn't play in New York or Boston, where they like to dry hump their babies if they show any promise at all.

Peaches was solid, but decided to be a little old school by having a bit of tricky inning where he gave up the tying runs. Fortunately, he looked darn good for the rest of it and in the tricky inning, he surrendered 2 runs instead of 7. So he might just be all right.

But Frank Thomas, defender against the unjust calls, totally lost his shit in the fourth. I say strike 3 was a ball, but maybe ball 3 was a strike. I agree about the yelling however, because the umpiring in this series was shitty. So to the high Vernon pitch in Game 1, the Overbay pitch from Mo, the lack of balls on the part of the umpiring crew, Rod Black wanking the Yankees, Joba/ Melky and all the rest, Frank Thomas says "That's some fucking bullshit right there!" Yes, Hurt, yes it was.
