How country is this club?
Lost in all the Rolen is funny/ Glaus wanted out bruhaha of the last couple of days, something in Jeff Blair's reader mail blog from a few days ago gave me pause. The Tao's post from this morning reminded me of it.
Blair's reader asked him what was with Zaun and all the silence re. The Mitchell Report, cause Zaun is usually so chatty. He also asked whether he thought there would be some 'fireworks' this season between Hurt the cooperator and Zaun the named (I was going to say 'fingered' but that sounded a little too dirty). In his response, Blair dropped this little bit of information:
"Interesting question about Zaun and Thomas, because they already had one verbal sparring match last year over fraternizing in the weight-room after the game."
And grown men intensely hunting each other with a nerf gun would be excellent entertainment. And as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing wrong with loose, as long as it's balanced.

Really? Is this new info or was I sleeping? And, more importantly, why was it not recorded and, like the Stollemeyer gem, put on YouTube? I also like the distinction that it was a "verbal" encounter, which is a relief, because we have seen what Thomas can do with a pillow.
And going back to what the Tao wondered about Rolen and his level of levity vs. how intense he is. This guy is known for being a bit of a hard-ass. He had feuds with Bowa and LaRussa. This sillier side of Rolen is new information and I'm not really worried about his intensity. Mostly cause of this:
