The silly mistakes

Nationals 4 Jays 2
Sparrow was, well, Sparrow-like and gave up 4 earned runs. The Jays bats, were, well, like the Jays' bats.
Except Frank Thomas, who apparently gave Sparrow a talking-to in the clubhouse after the 2nd inning when he flubbed a pitch to Tony Battista, surrendering the lead. The wise words went as such "Hey man, you've got to just go out there with some fire and just not make the silly mistakes." Hurt than went out and smacked career HR # 496, a towering bomb to left centre.
Some are wondering whether Hurt was right to give Sparrow a verbal ass-kick, considering Hurt's own offensive woes. But I think it's the right move. Thomas is a veteran and a legend. This is what teammates are supposed to do. Towers thought it was necessary and was probably glad someone cared.
On the subject of silly mistakes, it seems likely now that AJ and his newly earned big boy pants will end up on the 15-day DL with shoulder inflamation. He threw a bit on Sunday and said it still hurt. His record of 5-6 really doesn't reflect on how good he has been this season. And Gibby let him run his pitch counts up for mysterious reasons, which catergorizes this as a silly mistake. AJ can, however, still beat giant foam chillis in a foot race. The boy is full of shenanigans.
