When the Jays missed out on signing Ted Lilly and Gil Meche, Plan B appeared to be throwing Ohka, Zambrano and Thomson against the pitching wall to see which would stick. They all went splat and things seemed dire. But Plan C, code name : Operation Hatchling has turned out to be an excellent compliment to the dynamic duo of Doc and AJ. Shaun Marcum, with his nasty changeup, pitched 7 strong innings with a career high 11 Ks. Since joining the rotation, he has kicked quite a lot of ass.



Oh, and Vernon hit a 2-run HR, first in 88 at-bats. To the second deck. And lo, it was good.
