The Blue Jays: Just Kind of There
As it has become blatantly obvious by my infrequent posts, this team isn't really inspiring much of anything right now.
The weekend series with the Yankees illustrated the diverging paths of both teams.
Friday was a decisive victory ( hey, the Jays can still hit middling pitching!) and Saturday was a write off, but Sunday's game was a completely winnable game that wasn't won.
Ryan Borucki shoved, Kendrys Morales hit a late inning game tying homer. A team that has luck or pixie dust or whatever scores the walk off. But no, the Yankees get a man on in the bottom of the 10th, get a sac bunt to work (giving fuel to whatever jerk wants to call Jays Talk and argue that Justin Smoak should drop a bunt down with a man on in any given situation) and then get a timely go ahead base hit to push a second run across and that was it.
And that was it.
I've decided Happ is injured. I have no proof other than spot shittiness, which continued Saturday. Giving up four runs in the top of the first while the Yankees are countering with Severino is not ideal.
Congrats on the All Star selection, J.A. We were treated to a discussion of what happens if Happ is traded before the ASG on the Fan590, a vital and pressing concern. Exciting times.
Oof.
