Five Days of Blue Jays
The following things happened over the last five days.
Russell Martin his a walk off base hit. Pictures of Russell Martin that didn't include his face were still enjoyed by many. People talked about his moustache.
Martin himself had this to say for himself:
“Just trying to change something up just to see what would happen. So far, so good. So the mustache is staying.”
We'll get through this together.
Someone said he looked like a bad cop. And I thought of this movie. You can conjugate it, too.
On the subject of Quebec awesomeness, I discovered that Jacques Doucet has his own blog linked on the official Jays site. It's in French, naturally.
Here here he is saying goodbye while calling the last Expos game. There is no need to translate the emotion in his voice. It's heavy and it's beautiful. I cried.
This girl went to her first game of the season. Edwin Encarnacion celebrated by hitting six RBIs. He tied George Bell for Blue Jays homers.
This was his reaction being told he was on the verge.
Yaisel Puig came to Toronto. Did Toronto things.
Caught a big fish.
Climbed the Tower.
Was nice to a child.
Was perplexed by a knuckleball.
Went to the aquarium.
Talked to Toronto legend Morgan Campbell.
Morgan Campbell wrote about the Dodgers' investment in Cuba.
“We’re born to play baseball. It’s what we like and what we do. We play really well thanks to our preparation and thanks to God.”
Kevin Pillar was a beast.
“It’s special against any team, but it’s extra special knowing my friends and family were together watching at home, against the team we were up rooting for. It’s somewhat surreal, but I’m going to enjoy it.”
He is batting .373 (25-for-67) since April 17, a span of 18 games. Nine of those hits were for extra bases, which included seven doubles and two homers.
Clayton Kershaw Clayton Kershawed on Saturday.
“That’s a great team, they’ve got a lot of guys, not only with talent, but grinding of at-bats. They got my pitch count up there really quickly. They are good hitters for a reason. I was in and out today. My fastball command was not as good as I’d like, I was working from behind and it made it tough. But it kind of worked out today.”
Bartolo Colon hit a homer. And the world rejoiced.
Marco Estrada was amazing. And the bullpen blew it. Again.

Estrada was zen.
“We’re going to turn things around, this team is too good not to. We faced really tough pitching over there, and that’s what happened. They showed what they can do, pitching-wise, and they did a really good job, so you just tip your hat to that and move on to the next one.”
Now double your money and make a stack.
