Something Going On
So in the interim of me posting the last thing and me posting this current thing, I met Marcus Stroman.
Now, there is something to be said of star quality. Some people just have charisma, an innate sense that they’ve just got something going on.
Marcus Stroman has just got something going on.
I was near the end of the line (yes, I lined up) and Stroman was still very personable, very upbeat and was really great with the little kids in the line ahead of me (they coloured while lying on the floor in the mall. I read fashion magazines on my phone.) Marcus Stroman knows that this interaction is part of his job. Not every player is like this. Some don't have this. Most don't have this.
I will also say that while the guy is not tall, he is certainly not small. Dude is built like a brick shit house. Electric, fam. Boy is electric.
Also, BioSteel, the sponsor of the event, is way overpriced, but tastes like raspberries. After tasting it in the line, I bought it a few weeks later to give myself a boost while Christmas shopping. Yes, I Drink the Pink (hashtag.) I like that it has no sugar. I'm also not getting paid for this blurb.
Maybe I should be.
It's the second anniversary of what might turn out to be the biggest trade in Blue Jays history.
On November 28th, 2014, the Toronto Blue Jays got Joshua Adam Donaldson in a trade from Oakland. The last two years have been lots of fun.
This is what then-GM Alex Anthopolous said about Donaldson and the deal at the time.
It certainly doesn't hurt to ask.
For kicks, I thought I'd just post a link to one of my favourite Donaldson interviews.
He and Cabbie just really seem to like each other.
Beautiful.
Lately, Donaldson's hair adventures have taken him down this path:
He's calling it "Titanium". Because, of course.
Also, "his" season of Vikings starts this week. I'll be reporting.
It's just the best show.
