Don't Call It a Comeback (or a No Hitter)
Can't we just have something? Just this once? No?
It was a total masterpiece of a performance by Ricky Romero (although not as convincing as AJ Pierzynski's "ow my toe" performance.) Sometimes I think that Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler aren't all that bright. They actually believed Pierzynski's act and then wondered how it would be possible for one to fake that. Guys? It's a no-hitter in the 8th. They had been on base twice all night. AJ went up there looking for something like that. He is that kind of douchebag. And then the much booed Alex Rios said "Hola!" to the baseball, sending it over the left field fence. Maybe this is why it's a bad idea (not to mention a lame one) to boo him.
Anyway, Ricky was fantastic the whole game, even if he came up a little short in the history making department. It was a bit of a letdown victory (did it need to be Rios, baseball gods?) but that doesn't take away from how awesome he was. I'm just relieved that I don't have to look for the autograph I got when I met him last year.
The Angels were the opposing team when the Yankees received their WS rings and Matsui came over and hugged it up with his former team. He and Jeter had an extensive hug and maybe made out a little, but I can't confirm it. On Matsui, Jeter said,"He has been one of my favorite teammates I ever played with." You totally know it's because of the porn, right?
