On Luck or lack thereof

Good lord, that was a pretty shitty weekend of bad luck baseball.
Friday's game was the kind of game that makes me want to scream. Not because AJ sucked. AJ rocked it. But because it makes Steve Simmons say things like : "This is why A.J. Burnett makes people scream: He is pitching brilliantly. He has a one-run lead against a Tampa team that has lost seven straight. And he gives up a home run to a nobody ninth-place hitter to lose the game."
No, Steve, this is why sports "journalists" are considered assholes. AJ made one bad pitch that was punished. Hinske got a BB on a questionable checked swing call and was on base for Zobrist going deep. That loss, though it shows on AJ's record, is one hundred percent on the offense. If a pitcher can go deep into a game and give up less than 4 or so runs, he deserves the win. That's basic baseball knowledge. The Tao lit a fire under this one.
As for Saturday...ugh. Why was there a rock on the foul line? Why would Doc pick up a ball if it was fair? Why can League plunk Navarro but not throw a strike? Wilner thought intent was impossible, but I argued it was too much of a coincidence. I loved the plunking, btw. Don't bunt when you are up 5-0 and have had a series of shit hits and questionable calls. And Joe Maddon? We can't hit homeruns. Stop assuming we can. And Babe Ruth hit a shit load of homeruns in the '20s, so they weren't a foreign concept.
Arnsberg getting tossed was great, too.
Sunday was better, because the Jays were allowed offense. Avoiding the sweep. I hate the Rays.
