Some ugliness

I made a silent vow to my self that I wouldn't post again until they won, though I was annoyed at how fans were pissed at AJ for losing in extras, even though he wasn't all that bad. Especially when we have seen him pitch worse in starts this season, let alone out of the pen, on a day that isn't his day to work. But Stoeten over at DJF summed it up perfectly to all the idiots.
The bats going anemic while a not-so-sharp Doc, battled to a complete game, no luck, loss to Texas was also annoying.
David Purcey, (who by the way guys, his wife is cute, but settled down, she's not that cute), has what one calls a live arm. He's a big, loose lefty. His curve is neat, but he needs to settle down and pitch. 7 walks are evidence of that. Jason Frasor did a good job of cleaning up Purcey's mess, but then made his own mess the next inning. And then Acorn completely messed it up more. I've decided that the powder blues are only fun when the boys are winning.
I didn't watch the whole game today, but I watched about 3 innings. Bonderman was lucky to only give up what he did, cause he had nothing. Peaches looked just fine and took the win. Beej in with the save.
Ok, now I will address the little piece of ugliness that is swirling around this team. Frank Thomas is struggling. But he always starts slow and it is still April. He is right when he says he has been hitting the ball hard, just at people. Hitters need to hit to get out of a funk. That's just the way it is. So benching him is not about baseball, it's about the money. Otherwise, they would have moved him down in the order. And Gibby's decision comes right from JP. This move smells like JP, which smells like a combo of cost-cutting and bullshit. And if it comes down to an argument between JP and a player, 9 times out of 10, I take the player's side. The 1 time out of 10, by the way, is when the player's name rhymes with Day Chillenbrand.
