Notes from Nowhere

I've always disliked the Oakland A's. It might be the Moneyball bullshit (you heard me) or perhaps the gold shoes. But one thing I do like are the names. They are just fun to say. Say some now: Kiko Calero, Swisher, Santiago Casilla, Huston Street, Denorfia, Hannahan, Blevins, Van Burkleo, Duchsherer, Javier Herrera, Wakamatsu. Extra letters, plosives, wheeeee! Anyway, the Jays traded for Marco Scutaro, which is one of the most fun A's names, after only Kiko Calero. So the Jays might not have enough to catch the YankeeSox monster, but at least they'll have assonance. Marco! Scutaro!

In other news, Show Pony is the MVP (most valuable pony) and the Angels traded OCab for Jon Garland (JGar?). Mike Lowell stays a Sock and Glavine becomes a Brave one, once again.
