Over, finally

So the Red Sox won the flipping series. It's finally over.

Good things about a sweep

1. No more talk about the "dynasty" of the Sox, winning 2 series in 3 seasons. Hey, I know of a few teams in the 90s that won 2 series in TWO years. And 3 series in 3!!! And that didn't get eliminated by the White Sox in the first round and then finish 3rd the next year in between.

2. No game 5 start for Beckett, so he wins WS MVP. Instead, Mike Lowell, least odious of the Sox, wins it. Hey Mike, you wanna play in T.O.?

3. No more of Papelbon's mouth thing until April. What the hell is that?

4. No more attention on Royce Clayton on the bench. I kept waiting for him to start sucking as bench clapper, start complaining and be replaced by JMac. If he gets a ring, it is so over. They should just cancel the MLB.

5. A-Rod opting out of Yankee contract and Scott Boras announcing it. And then apologizing to everyone for distracting from the Sox. No one outside the nation cares. Distract away.

6. No more Fox sports coverage. No more trying to decipher wtf Tim McCarver is talking about. Jeanne Zelasko trying to relate to the players and saying "nation" 2.5 billion times. And "dynasty" 1.5 billion times. No more talking about Beckett in hushed tones.

7. No more boring ballgames that start at 8:30 and finish at 1:00 a.m., complete with 3 minute commercial breaks.

8. No more of McCarver's thinly veiled resentment of Manny Ramirez
