Aubrey sampled Lauryn Hill's Ex-Factor and had a video starring several of my favourite people including Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Letitia Wright  and Tiffany Haddish- people who wrote and starred in some of my favourite shows, books and movies of the past year and a half.

It's like he said, "What does Joanna want to see and hear? Oh, this." 

Pineapple Skies- Miguel

Marcus Stroman's buddy, rapper Mike Stud, posted a playlist on Spotify either chosen or inspired by Stro. It contains entirely too much Chris Brown for my taste, but it made me remember this gorgeous Miguel song. 

So I forgive it a little.

Best Life- Cardi B. feat. Chance the Rapper

This woman is a force of nature. Her album is spicy and it made me laugh more than once, mostly when she raps about how she calls out her own name during sex. 

Bless her. And bless Chance the Rapper. 

Must've Been- Chromeo feat. DRAM

DRAM is a singer/rapper from Virginia, and his near constant companion (and often featured in his promotional stuff) is his golden-doodle Idnit. 

Chromeo is from Montreal. This is the fifth song off their Head over Heels album.

I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues- Alessia Cara

There's a new album of Elton John covers. This song is a song from my childhood and Alessia Cara's smooth, silky r&b voice fits nicely into the melancholy nature of the song.

Indica Badu- 

Logic is featured in the first episode of the Netflix series Rapture, which just came out this week.

The second episode featuring Nas and Dave East is actually my favourite, but the whole thing is quality. 

Alice Merton- Lash Out

Her song "No Roots" got into my head last summer and wouldn't leave. This is sparkly dance-pop.
