I suspected Vernon's wrist bugged him last season. It really doesn't make much sense for a guy to fall off a cliff the way he did without out something specifically wrong. And "he sucks and is overpaid and sucks" isn't specific.

"The same thing that frustrates people about me not getting upset when I struggle, they don't seem to pay attention when I do well and I'm the same person. That's me. It's always been me. I try to be the same person."

I don't believe you, dude. His demeanor last season held every indication to a guy who was feeling pressure to live up to a massive contract, to press at the plate (popping up and yelling "Fuck!", which drifts into the Sportsnet mics tucked in around home) and to play hurt.

I've always liked the guy. He seems affable and chill, and when things are going well, Vernon Wells is one hell of a nice athlete to watch. So I'm happy for him. I'm also expecting 243 homeruns this season.
