HUM & CHUCK

While watching the display of international athletics and hotness, I realized that pitchers and catchers report in Florida in the next few days. The Score ran a small season preview, and when they got to the NL East, things got a little sad. But, onward and upward. Well, maybe not upward. But forward, towards certain doom.

Vancouver native (and closet Red Sox hat wearer) Scott "The Eyebrows" Richmond, has a right shoulder impingement and will rest it going into spring training. Parkes reports: "The Jays have not denied rumours that Richmond's injury was the result of his participation in last night's collective jerk off by the city of Vancouver in front of the world." Can someone even hurt their shoulder jerking off? If he had carpal tunnel or something, than I'd buy that.

The Big Hurt announced his retirement. The signing was dumb in the first place ('sup, JP?) and it ended really rather ugly, but it was a pleasure to watch one of the best hitters ever in the game to hit for our boys. I remember one night in April when a Manny Delcarmen change up made Thomas' eyes bug out before smacking it. Next stop, the Hall.

My Opinion of The Average Sox Fan Remains Steady

Hey, I'm a pinko! And I am too dumb to not only understand baseball, but also Massachusetts' complex relationship with it (World Series win = good. Yankees = bad.) Some dude writes on my SOSH goes to the polls post:

Wow, you're even bigger communist than Stoeten. What the fuck do you know about politics? You barely know anything about baseball and you have a frigging Jays blog!

Since you live in Canada, which effectively has a one party system consisting of socialism (grits), socialism lite (tories), and liberal socialism/communism (ndp/bloq), I'll explain it to you.

Saying Schilling is a Yankees fan in Boston is a lot bigger deal than you so sadly and clearly think. That was a hugely fucking important and overdue title that he delivered to Red Sox fans - i.e. the entire New England. Had you ever been to Boston, you'd realize that. They view him as a state hero and the comments that he's made in the local press about hating the Yankees and everything that the Yankees stand for have been digested by anyone with a TV, radio or newspaper in MA. Coakley should have known that had she either a) heard any sort of news... ever and/or b) had enough of braincells to remember something like that. But I guess rising through the ranks of her party, intelligence isn't exactly an important value

Hey, you know what's really sad? Placing so much importance on baseball that you let blowhards like Curt Schilling determine who runs your state just because he helped win you guys a World Series. I wrote in my post that Coakley was incredibly stupid to say what she said, so I'm not quite sure what your point is.

But stupidity is running rampant, because the rising star of the Republican party (and with your free use of the word "Communist" as an insult, I'm hazarding a guess that that's the way you vote) is a supreme moron. But, judging by your love of Schilling, morons from Alaska who contribute empty noise are the kind of folks you dig. And if you consider Stephen Harper "Communist-lite", there are morons in Massachusetts as well.
