I had a sinking feeling that Eeyore was going to beat us today, and sure enough, he did. I also said to my dad about two weeks that Jesse Litsch, at 7-1, might, maybe, might go to the All-Star Game. My dad said, "There is over a month or so to go, he might lose all his decisions and be 7-8 by then." (This is the kind of positivity that I was raised with, by the way.)
P.R.E. is 7-3 right now, losing his last 3 decisions.
Staying in the positive mindframe, the Jays stand 8.5 games back of the Sox and in last place in the AL East. No one can hit with RISP.
And I'm still wondering why we let Reed Johnson go. Can we stop cheering for him now?
The pic? Koufax was my pops' favourite pitcher. The Boston media used to compare Eeyore to Koufax everytime he owned them (which was more or less everytime he pitched) as a Jay. But they also used to do that with every lefty that ever owned them. It was a bit pathetic. Happy Dad's Day, Dad!
