Someone get this man in a playoff hunt

So yesterday, I was composing a sad, bitter blog entry about the futility of Sunday's 12 inning marathon loss of suckage to that other AL East bird team. It bummed me out so much, I just saved it, planning to go back and finish it later.

So what happens last night? The Jays play the BEST GAME EVER against the Red Sox. The kind of game where one asks themselves, this team leads the AL East? Has won 90 games? This large Dominican who is swinging feebly at these pitches is one of the most feared hitters in the game?

Frank Thomas hit three homeruns. Three!! He laughed hitting the third. He has lovely teeth. Dustin "Peaches" McGowan had no-hit caliber stuff and had a slider working that k'd Papi thrice (it is now known as the Papi slider). And V-Dub made an over the shoulder basket catch that made my dad say "Willie!" in hushed tones.

BJ Ryan was there too and apparently can throw from 40 feet. Jesse Litsch looked to be following him around.

So Pat Tabler's long-ago stated theory "good hitting +good pitching + good defense = wins" proves once again to be true.

AJ, current possesor of my baseball heart, had better bring his most unneighbourly stuff because methinks the Sox will be demanding satisfaction.

Oh, and Troy's surgery was a success and Lyle's hand is getting de-screwed next week, ending his season slightly sooner than his fellow Jays.
