Black and Blue

Well, over the last few days, two teams that call themselves Blue beat the living shit out of each other.

Dodgers 10 Jays 1

McGowan, who had come off 5 straight quality starts, got absolutely creamed by the Dodgers. Brad "the Moose" Penny, ace of the staff and rumoured dater of Alyssa Milano, only gave up one little run and Frank Thomas got booed.

Dodgers 1 Jays 12

Kuo, who used to play with Chien Min Wang in Korea, got absolutely creamed by the Jays. Roy "the Doc" Halladay, ace of staff and who has never dated Alyssa Milano (as far as I know), only gave up one little run and Frank Thomas got cheered when he hit a Grand Slam (HR number 497) to make it 8-0.

Stairs and Zaun had solo jacks. And poor Vernon had nothing. Nothing! Neither did Troy.

I was watching with my dad. He said "Roy is nasty tonight," and I said "Yeah, and he'll probably talk about all the support he got." And sure enough, "It sure makes it nice, to get that many runs early. You know good defense, lets you get aggressive early. It makes a big difference." Do I know my ace or what?

Halladay also got career strikeout number 1000. In classic, low-key Doc-style he said, "Yeah, I have about another 30 more years to catch Nolan Ryan." Expect a call from Alyssa Milano anyday now, Doc.
